Sealants act as a barrier to prevent cavities!

Brushing and flossing help to remove food and plaque from the surfaces of your teeth but bristles cannot extend to the bottom of your teeth depressions and grooves. Dental sealants are used as a barrier to prevent cavities in vulnerable areas. They are made out of a plastic material and are usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the pre-molars and molars (back teeth) where decay occurs most often.

Key Benefits:

  • Prevent cavities
  • Saves future cost of dental care

Additional information: Sealants are easily applied by painting the plastic material onto the tooth’s enamel where it bonds directly to the tooth and hardens. As long as the sealant is present, the tooth surface is protected from any decay.

  • The dental hygienist was very knowledgeable, respectful and courteous.

  • All front desk staff are always welcoming and greet me by name. The hygienist, Karen, was thorough, gave good hygiene advice, and discovered I had unused 'units' therefore I could come in more frequently which would benefit gum health. Thanks for the great care!
